Rada

Ho ideato questo sistema sonoro pensando a come poter intessere un dialogo profondo con gli spazi del nostro quotidiano, ho cercato di immaginare un insieme sonoro capace di aggiungere qualcosa all’esperienza uditiva di ciascuno. Rada è un sistema che permette di rendere più morbidi gli spazi acustici in cui viviamo. Il suo ascolto funziona se aiuta a ripensare le strutture intorno a noi come a delle partiture aperte, che vanno attraversate ponendo cura ai silenzi inaspettati e ai momenti lenti nei quali possiamo riprendere il controllo sulla nostra attenzione.

I devised this sound system while thinking about how to weave a deep dialogue with the spaces of our everyday life; I tried to imagine an ensemble of sounds able to add something to each person’s experience of listening. Rada is a system for making the acoustic spaces we live in a little softer. Listening to it works if it helps us rethink the structures around us as open scores — scores to be crossed with care for the unexpected silences, and for the slow moments in which we can take back control of our attention.

J’ai conçu ce système sonore en cherchant comment tisser un dialogue profond avec les espaces de notre quotidien ; j’ai essayé d’imaginer un ensemble sonore capable d’ajouter quelque chose à l’expérience auditive de chacun. Rada est un système qui permet d’adoucir les espaces acoustiques où nous vivons. Son écoute fonctionne si elle aide à repenser les structures qui nous entourent comme des partitions ouvertes, à traverser en accordant du soin aux silences inattendus et aux moments lents où nous pouvons reprendre la maîtrise de notre attention.

日々の暮らしの空間とどうすれば深い対話を織りなせるか——そう考えながら、この音のシステムを構想しました。ひとりひとりの聴く経験に何かを加えうる音の集まりを、想像してみようとしたのです。
